Just an hour from downtown Toronto, there’s an exquisitely furnished, air conditioned and beautifully restored 1840’s farmhouse. It sits in the middle of a private, 350-acre nature preserve and it is yours to rent.

The property boasts an array of wildlife and birds. The sixteen acre kettle lake is sixty feet deep and perfect for swimming.

“It is not just a place to stay, but a home that has been loved and cared for. It helps us welcome both family and friends.” - Dr. C. Prince, who has been bringing her family to Seldom Seen every year since 1997.

The gazebo across the lawn from the house overlooks the formal gardens and ponds where blue herons have nested for the last forty years.
If you wake up early you might catch sight of the deer munching apples in the orchard or wander down to the lake to see the birds skimming the surface of the water, diving for their breakfast.
In all seasons Seldom Seen has a truly unique appeal. The hiking trails that criss cross the nature reserve are suitable for running shoes or cross country skis. Toboggan down the hills or skate on the lake in January. In July, after a game of tennis, cool off with a quick dip before going to explore the local area and all it has to offer.

Housekeeping and catering services can be arranged.
