“There is tranquil beauty in the well-tended area surrounding the house that encourages contemplation and renewal. The trails allow a close-up view of nature – through woods, over streams, up and down rolling countryside.” - Dr. C. Prince, a regular since 1997. |

Swimming in a private 16-acre
kettle lake, 60 feet deep and unpolluted, is a short walk through the orchard
behind the house. The water feels like silk on your skin. There's a dock
and boathouse so bring your fishing pole and try for the legendary three-foot
pike. PHOTO AT LEFT: The kettle lake, and the Nova Scotian Dory, at dawn. |
| Take the canoe around the
lake at dusk or dawn, just for the peace and beauty of it. If you’re
not a fan of canoes, take the Nova Scotia Dory for a row, or pop in the
mast and take it for a sail. If you’d rather watch all the water sports from the sidelines, throw down a towel on the dock, the raft or the new beach and catch a few rays. |

The tennis court is a great way to work up a sweat before a refreshing dip. If you can’t get your partner out of the lake, hit some balls against the practice wall, or shoot some hoops on the court. PHOTO AT LEFT: Kyra and Zoe play inside a fairy circle of wild mushrooms. |
There are many kilometres of trails that can’t be missed, ideal for your morning jog, or nature hikes to discover many breathtaking views and chance encounters with deer or wild turkeys. Think about it - quiet comfort, sophisticated elegance. Lots of exploring if you feel like it, on the property or in the neighbourhood, or if it suits you better, take time to watch the sun set from the gazebo, backed by lily ponds and sweeping willows. Or curl up in front of a bonfire at the lake’s edge and roast some marshmallows…
